He recently graduated from the M.Sc. in Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University, with a background in Software Engineering (M.Sc.) and Computer Science (B.Sc.) from University of Madeira. His research interests include ubiquitous, pervasive, distributed and mobile computing, in an emphasis in context-awareness and human-behavior.

Ph.D. student at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is a member of the Ubicomp Lab at the Human-Computer-Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. He recently graduated with a M.Sc. in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen University after which he worked as a research assistant at the Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute before starting his Ph.D. His interests include ubiquitous, pervasive, and mobile computing, with an emphasis on context-awareness, context prediction, human routine modeling, and sustainability.

Professor of Computer Engineering in Ubiquitous Computing at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Oulu. He previously held appointments at the University of Madeira and Carnegie Mellon University. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Bath. He has been a Fellow of the Academy of Finland Distinguished Professor Programme. He conducts research on ubiquitous and pervasive computing, human-computer interaction, social and dynamic networks, usable security and trust.

Assistant Professor at Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute where he also acts as the academic director of the Carnegie Mellon | Portugal Professional Masters of Human-Computer Interaction. He holds a PhD (cum laude) from Eindhoven University of Technology on methods and tools for user experience evaluation. His research focuses on the design and evaluation of pervasive computing systems with a focus on the experiential and social consequences of their adoption. His work has been published at venues such as ACM CHI, IwC, IJHCS. He has been a visiting researcher at Philips Research, Philips Consumer Lifestyle and the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.
